Will your diet & lifestyle habits reduce the risk of your breast cancer coming back in 2019?

Working with ‘Survivors’ and being one myself, the one little worry that is at the back of our mind is…
…’what if it comes back?’

I used to live with that fear all the time until I made a decision to do everything I could to reduce the risk of my breast cancer coming back.

As we enter 2019 are there diet & lifestyle habits you might need to change give yourself that same peace of mind?

More importantly what habits are going to give you the greatest protection?

First let’s be clear.

You can’t change your age, gender, genes or family history. However, more and more research is showing that your genes and family history don’t play as big a part as we thought.

Genetic factors are NOT the major cause of chronic diseases.

Your genes may load the gun BUT your diet and lifestyle pull the trigger. So you are not automatically going to get breast cancer because your Mum did and vice versa.

There was no family history in my family!

What that means is that you have far more control over your breast cancer than you might have believed, which means that putting these protective habits in place is more important than ever.

So what habits are going to give you the greatest protection from getting breast cancer again?

Fortunately they are well researched although NOT commonly known.

Diet & lifestyle habits that will exponentially reduce the risk of your breast cancer coming back:

• Avoid smoking and alcohol.
• Maintain a healthy body weight
• Exercise regularly
• Eat cancer fighting foods.

Sounds like common sense…right?

Maybe you’re even nodding along going…’I know all that’.

But did you know…

The link between alcohol and breast cancer is as strong as the link between smoking and lung cancer.

OR that your body weight is the SINGLE biggest pre-determiner of ANY health outcome.

OR that exercise has been shown to be as protective as an anti-cancer diet.

OR that broccoli contains sulforaphane, a compound that fights the growth of cancer cells.

I get it…when you are trying to decide where to start, it can feel overwhelming, especially if you are struggling in all those areas!

There are SO many diet and lifestyle CHOICES to make, which one will give YOU the most benefit in your current situation.

If you would like some help to find that ONE thing to help you get started, I can help.

I believe this is why so many diets fail.

We commit to a 6 week challenge - pay for a coach or announce it to the world and off we go!

But then the coaching ends OR the 6 weeks are up!

When I work with clients at some point they’ll say...I almost ate XXX on the weekend, but I knew I had to tell you so I resisted.

I am acutely aware that I will not be in my clients' lives forever.

So I never pass quickly over these revelations because I want to make sure they have the tools to deal with these situations when I’m not around.
